Caribbean Urban Search And Rescue is a voluntary organization that since 2014 has been participating in response to national and international disaster systems.
CUSAR is a team of people who specialize in search and rescue, disaster recovery, and emergency medical response. The purpose of CUSAR is based on Search and rescue in urban areas giving support to the local authorities; we come into play when the magnitude of the event is greater than the capacity for the response of the local authorities, or whenever it requires our assistance.
Three Core Objectives
Provide support in search and rescue in national and/or international areas.
Provide support in rescue work and urban search national and/or international areas in situations of large events when the local emergency authority requests it.
Provide support in rehabilitation work of the affected communities after emergency/disaster.
